Sedation: Oral anxiolytics and laughing gas are common techniques. Also, IV sedation allows you to sleep through the procedure. You can even have the doctor prescribe medicine to take before your appointment so you are relaxed when you come in.

Talk: Talk with your dentist or oral surgeon. Express your emotions, discuss your medical history so they can not only understand you but treat you in the most comfortable way for you. Then you will be more prepared and your doc can premed you in the best way to make the experience the best for you.

Sedation: A general dentist who is trained in sedation or an oral surgeon will sedate you prior treatment so you will not remember anything.
