3+ months: Fractures of c1 and C2 range from very mild fractures to severe fractures that place the spinal cord at risk. Some need a simple collar, some a halo, and others a surgery. Depending on the specific fracture and how it is treated, it can take 3-6 months to be completely healed. All c1 and C2 fractures should be seen by a spine surgeon to make sure they heal properly to protect your spinal cord.
