Soaking: I have my patients soak their foot in warm water and epsom salt once a day, dry the toe well and apply an antibiotic cream to the surgery site. This is usually done for 2 weeks. Check with your doctor to see if he/she recomends the same treatment as you are under their guidance after the surgery.

Doc should tell: You what to do anytime they do an operation on you. You should call the office and ask them. It would depend if you had a permenant or temporary avulsion. Some doctors don't like the patients to disturn the bandage and others allow it to be changed daily with a topical antibiotic applied.
