Many possibilities: A sharp, severe, or persistent pain should be evaluated first by your OB for pain caused by a problem with your pregnancy. Other causes of right sided abdominal pain include round ligament pain (it is stretched as your baby grows), or abdominal problems such as appendicitis, colitis, kidney stones, and gallstones to name a few.
