Yes: As we age we are less able to respond to changes in temperature. Certain meds can also alter our thermoregulatory system- like anti-psychotics, sometimes use in dementia to manage behavioral problems. Older adults are less likley to sense thirst as well- so hydrating with water and other beverages is wise(drinks with electrolytes are best).
