A member asked:

How serious must a head injury be before seeing a doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Change in alertness: Head injuries that change a person's level of alertness should be checked out by a doctor. This includes being dazed, can't remember a period of time, or loss of consciousness. If you have a headache that won't go away or gets worse, concentration problems or balance issues, get checked out. And anyone taking any kind of blood thinner should be checked even if they don't have any of these signs.
