Insomnia: Insomnia is common. Trouble getting to sleep may be related to anxiety. Waking up in the middle of the night may be related to depression. You should see your doctor for evaluation. Conservative things to try for sleep include "sleepy hygiene"-- no caffeine or vigorous exercise or screen time (stimulates your brain) within a few hours of bed. Have a regular bedtime routine.

Sleepless: Your question was cut off, but it seems that you have primary insomnia, assuming that you don't drink alcohol or use drugs, and that the problem has been there for a while. Recommend the sleep hygiene techniques (google that sentence & you get details), & if that fails, try low dose melatonin, & if that fails, see your pcp for other alternatives.
