Why you shouldn't take antacids with synthroid (thyroxine)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absorption: Thyroid meds must be taken on an empty stomach for proper absorption. That means nothing but water for one hour after taking or 2h before taking meds. Vitamins and minerals need to be taken at least 4 hours away from thyroid. A new medication tirosint claims no fasting necessary however.
