Types of blood cells: A complete blood count (CBC) tests for three types of blood cells: red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. It also give characteristics (size, etc) of some of these. It often includes a description of the white blood cells, called a differential. This can give additional information if the white blood cell count is high or low.
