A member asked:

How many obese people are actually obese due to illness and how many just due to laziness?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Look differently : There is much that we don't understand about obesity, but it is a disorder and it is very complicated. It is a chronic medical condition which needs attention from a wide variety of services. The way the food industry targets children, soda machines in schools, decreased government funding for pe programs, not enough side walks or safe places to play, socioeconomic constraints, etc.
