Yes: Eczema is a chronic inflammatory skin condition. Seems to be due to genetic defects in the proteins and lipids supporting the skin layer/barrier called the epidermis. Disruption of this barrier results in inflammation of the skin. Eczema can be mild, moderate or severe and is associated with itching. See an allergist or dermatologist for further workup and evaluation.
