Permethrin 5% Cream: Permethrin 5% cream (prescribed by your physician) is applied to all skin surfaces below the neck and left on overnight. Repeat this application one week later. In the meantime, one should decontaminate all linen, bed sheets, etc. By washing in hot water. All close contacts should also be worked up for scabies due to the skin-to-skin transmission of the mite.
