See below: Scabies is treated with a topical scabicide such as 5% permethrin. It is applied over the entire body from the chin to the toes and left on for 8 to 14 hours before washing off. The treatment is repeated 1 week later. The itching may take over a week to resolve. Skin lesions will gradually fade and resolve.
