Interferons ? : There is no best medication , some would suit the patient better than others but interferons are the most widely used for prevention of attacks.

Difficult to decide: Due to promotion by drug companies, there has been great confusion regarding "best", but numerous head-to-head studies have shown the inferiority of avonex, and the more effective value from the other interferons. Most ms specialists would agree that the most potent drugs are tysabri (natalizumab) and gilenya, but both do have risks.
