A member asked:

Why do multiple sclerosis medications hurt when you inject them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reasons include: Use of needle which may vary in size but still hurts. Many of injectables are acidic and burn, especially the older drug Rebith. But why endure pain? We now have three oral agents, Aubagio, Tecfidera, and Gilenya, (fingolimod) and each is as or more effective than the injectables.
