Not usu adequate : While it is an antibiotic, Metronidazole (flagyl) does not cover most common pathogenic bacteria for utis.

No: Metronidazole treats anaerobic bacteria (bacteria that grow in environments without oxygen). Bladder infections are caused by aerobic bacteria (bacteria that require oxygen), so Metronidazole won't work.
