Proctitis: Proctitis is a general term referring to rectal inflammation - it can come from many differnt causes including viral or bacterial infection or thebody attacking itself in an autoimmune disease a biopsy can give a better idea of the cause and then the treatment can be directed more carefully.

Proctitis causes are: 1 idiopathic proctitis when no cause is found 2 anal sex with multiple patrners 3 auti immune proctitis in ulcerative colitis and crohns disease 4 sexually transmitted disease chlamydia and lymphogranuloma venereum 5radiation for cancer cervix and prostate can not say in your case without detailed history , physical exam and if needed biopsy.
