No it will not hurt: Mri does not hurt. Some people feel claustrophobia which can be addressed with sedatives if necessary. Many mri's have headsets and music you can listen to during the exam. Just relax and it will be over before you know it.

MRIs will help you: By finding out what is causing your problems. If you get an inferior test you will worry they did not do the best test to find your problem. Do not get a test which is inferior to the MRI test. Don't fear the unknown. And ask your friends and bring a friend with you to the test. It will make you feel better.
