A 19-year-old member asked:
Is there a such thing as an allergy to physical activity?
3 doctor answers • 5 doctors weighed in

Dr. Michael Carson answered
Internal Medicine 29 years experience
Acutally...Yes: Some people will develop hives on their skin (itchy red bumps - similar to what you get with mosquito bites or with some other allergic reactions) in response to exercise. This can be mild, or sometimes severe, but shouldn't be confused with people who do "not like" to exercise. If it occurs, call your doctor for an appointment, or call 911 if it involves trouble breathing.

Dr. Steven Machtinger answered

A rare allergy: Rapeseed oil is called canola oil today. It's the basic ingredient of most vegetable oils. Because canola oil is extracted at very high heat from the seeds any allergenic proteins are denatured and rendered harmless by the processing.
