Potentially serious: Nut allergic reactions can range from mild to severe and life threatening. Most fatalities from food allergy are from accidental ingestion of peanut or nuts. It may take only a very, very small amount to cause a serious reaction or in some cases a "threshold" has to be reached. The reaction could be hives, swelling, anaphylaxis, cough, wheezing, throat tightness, vomit/diarrhea, flushing, itch.
