Failure is the worse: Common risks include damage to the bladder, complications of anesthesia, pain with intercourse, worsening bladder function or infection. However, the greatest risk is failure with a repeat operation being necessary. It really stresses the importance of knowing the abilities of your physician well. Don't be afraid to ask about your physicians qualifications, failure rates, or common problems.

It varies.: As with any surgery their are many risk factors associated with cystocele repair. The most likely complications are bleeding, infection and injury to the bladder or surrounding structures. The level of risk is dependent on what approach the surgeon takes, your history of previous surgeries and the experience of the surgeon. However, this is not considered a high-risk procedure.
