Yes: But it could be so many other things as well from reflux to problems with liver, kidneys, musckes, stomach, gallbladder, lungs, aorta, erc. Have it evaluatedsnyder a physician as it may be nothing or it may be serious.

Possible: It would be somewhat atypical as a symptom, but certainly possible. More concerning is the condition known as aortic dissection which commonly causes upper back pain. Of course numerous orthopedic conditions of the spine also cause this symptom. Get it checked out immediately if it is abrupt in onset and uncomfortable.
