A member asked:

Why do teenagers and so many college students get tattoos?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All tatted up: It's a fad that's increasing in popularity. According to the pew research center, 36% of adults 18-25 have tattoos, and 40% of adults 26-40 have them. Nearly a third of people with tattoos say they're "addicted to ink." 43% say that personal meaning is the most important factor in getting a tattoo. People say that tattoos make them feel rebellious, sexy, or more intelligent, in that order.
