A student of mine (college) had a nosebleed and it bled on the exam. i worry about contacting aids/hiv. we had sanitizer wipes and will try to get gloves but i'm. of sure what else to do. should i be concerned about contacting it?

The HIV virus is fragile. You would only be at risk if fresh blood from an HIV positive person entered a break in your skin. If the area dries out and you have done what you said there is no reason to pursue this further.
