A member asked:

If a person is diagnosed with heart disease, what should he / she avoid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: It depends on the heart condition. If one has coronary disease as the cause of heart problem, a prudent low fat and low salt diet would be recommended. If a person has heart failure, limitations of fluids and salt would be appropriate. In just about all patients with heart problems, a change in lifestyle with calorie restrictions and an exercise program with a goal of ideal body weight is great.
