Should children be allowed to go to school with ringworm?

Yes, they can go: Children with ringworm (Tinea corporis fungal skin infection) can go to school, but they should be under treatment with a cream such as Lotrimin (clotrimazole) AF anti-fungal cream. They should not be allowed to participate in wrestling until they have been using an anti-fungal cream for a week.

Ring worm : Before a child goes to school with a fungal infection or "ring worm" , he or she should already be receiving medical treatment in the form or topical or oral medication prescribed by their physician to reduce the likelihood of the condition spreading since it is contagious . Check with your physician and school nurse to obtain their procedures and policies.
