Yes: Study results vary, but most studies show a modest effect of acupuncture on neck pain. It's very low risk, lower than the risk of taking medications, even over the counter medications such as ibuprofen. Here's a link to a recent study on the effects of acupuncture for chronic neck pain: http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pmc/articles/pmc3373337/.

Yes: In my experience the success rate is considerably higher than 30%. In acute ( short term) situations acupuncture will often relieve spasm and pain in neck. In chronic neck conditions maintenance treatments once a month or 6 weeks may be necessary once acute pain is relieved.

Successful Treatment: Acupuncture can be helpful in treating neck pain. All forms of physical medicine should be considered. Acupuncture can help with acute pain. Chiropractic and rehab should be utilized for long term care. These can also be helpful for backache, back pain, sciatica, disc bulges, etc.

Possibly: Although not understood fully, acupuncture has shown good success in some pain syndromes. Only way to know is try it out. If after 2-3 treatments you can't see a difference I would seek out a pin/spine specialist for other options.

Yes: Acupuncture can be very helpful for many causes of neck pain. Even if there is a structure lesion - it can still help to reduce inflammation and pain, increase neural flow (& Qi), blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. In this case even if not curing the lesion it is still very therapeutic. Acupuncture uses the body's internal healing processes.

Yes and no. : May help with pain or stress (if you Believe in it enough). But the disease itself could be serious ( ? Nerve compression ? Heart pain? Gallbladder? Rumor?). Make sure it's nothing serious before you trust in acupuncture. If no serious pathology, could then attempt acupuncture. Feel better
