If it is a chronic : Medical problem please have it evaluated by a physician. One of the things i treat the most often as an acupuncturist is cervical (neck) pain from a variety of causes. Chronic problems usually require more treatments.

Muscle manipulation: The cause of stiff neck is usually due to stress and compensation of muscles. Depending on the length of time it's been stiff and how often it happens, acupuncture may aid in relieving the pressure. In addition, manipulation and massage can improve results, as well as change in habit and lifestyle.

It may help: But if you just have trigger or tender point in the neck, you'd be surprised what even dry needling may do for you too. Both techniques are often done by acupuncturist.
