Herpes: It is impossible o tell or predict recurrences. Try to keep stress to a minimum. Treatment options are starting meds at first sign of outbreak or if attacks get more frequent you could get prescribed daily preventative medication.

Unpredictable. : The frequency of outbreaks can be unpredictable. It depends on the severity and duration of the initial episode, the serotype of the virus, and the host. Chronic suppressive therapy with daily anti-viral medication has shown to decrease the number of recurrences and is usually offered to patients who have 6 or more outbreaks per year.
