Yes.: There is evidence that medications called alpha-blockers (terazosin, tamsulosin) can relax the urinary tract musculature and aid in passing a urinary stone. This is sometimes called medical expulsive therapy. This is usually only useful in smaller, less than 8mm stones. Steroids have been used in the past, but no evidence supports their efficacy.
