What leads to a ?salmonella outbreak?

Tainted food: If a food stuff is contaminated with salmonella and winds up being eaten by lots and lots of people at, say, a chain restaurant then an outbreak can occur. Outbreaks can be also caused by spread from infected pets especially baby chicks and turtles.
