Rest: The best thing you can do is to rest the knee by avoiding high strain activities like running going up stairs and doing recovery exercises. Most of all try to avoid high impact activities with your knees. Recovery may take 6-8 weeks or more depending on the severity. Try things like swimming or biking instead to help your knee recover.
