Usually slow growth : They are usually slow-growing tumors that can behave in a benign or malignant manner. They usually start out in the intestine (stomach, small bowel, appendix, colon or rectum) or in the lungs. Some can product hormones that cause signs and symptoms such as diarrhea or skin flushing. Otherwise, they are usually asymptomatic until late stages. Treatment is usually surgical resection.
