A member asked:

I was "diagnosed" with ibs, what can i do to cope?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reduce stress: I know this sounds very simplistic.Ibs is a very serious illness but the tools your dr has are limited by you and your response to your "coping" mechanisms. This is a "stress illness".That does not negate any of it's severity in its impact on your quality of life but it does help you in helping finding the best tx options.Diet;what triggers?Exercise:more is better.Few drugs really help, bentyl (dicyclomine)?
