Possibly Long Time: "honeycombing" of the lung is the end of the scarring process. If the honeycombing is all over the lung, then it may affect breathing and oxygen level, and one may not live a long time. But, if it is only localized or in one spot, then potentially, someone can live with it for a long time. It may cause symptoms, like cough, but it may not necessarily be fatal.
