Timing: They certainly do but they must be used correctly. I recommend one tablet at the beginning and one immediately at the end of any meal containing dairy or lactose. Remember to read labels.

Yes: The pill contains the lactase enzyme that lactose intolerant people do not have. You may need to work on how much to use and the timing, since dosing is an estimate. If you are consuming a high lactose product like milk, take more and start before you drink it. A low lactose product like sharp cheddar cheese would take little or no supplement.
