Options: Lactose intolerance occurs in those who have loss of the enzyme that digests lactose in their intestines. If you consume it and have no way to digest it, gut germs will creating extra gas & acid which triggers cramps. Lactaid is just the enzyme that is missing, which can reduce symptoms, but many don't take enough to match their lactose intake. Either take more lactaid or consume less lactose.
