A member asked:

Can someone's eyesight suddenly improve when they get older?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Partially: When individuals start to develop nuclear sclerotic cataracts they may become more nearsighted. This may allow them to read without their reading glasses giving the appearance of improvement with age. On examination they usually have a decrease in their distance vision due to the cataract.
