Can a regular ob / gyn treat you for infertility?

Infertility: Yes - to an extent. They can perform exams and/or lab tests useful in making a diagnosis and possibly treating the cause. In some cases it requires a fertility specialist to diagnose and treat. Start with gyn.

Infertility: A general OB/ Gyn can do infertility evaluations and treatment. The infertility specialist works with the more difficult cases. Typically in vitro fertilization is only done by the specialists. Infertility doctors will usually send pregnant patients back to the generalist for delivery. A woman older than 35 with infertility should probably be seeing the specialist.
