Same/Different: They are both narcotic pain medications or opioids, however Oxycontin is a long acting preparation of oxycodone and morphine is well...Morphine. This can be confusing as the long acting preparation of morphine is mscontin. So to sum it up... Oxycontin = long acting oxycodone, mscontin = long acting morphine. Both are opioids.
