Treat ear discharge: Ear discharge may be caused by infection of the external ear, or infection of the middle ear space associated with a hole in the ear drum. The infection may be due to bacteria, fungi or both. It may be necessary to culture the discharge so that the most appropriate medication can be prescribed.

Varies: This is a situation where there is no "one thing fixes all".First you have the ear examined to find out where the discharge is coming from (canal or middle ear). Then it treatment may be obvious or need further tests to decide on what will work best. You could also just ignore it & a healthy immune system might fix it in weeks or months, or it could progress to even more problems.
