Many effects: Lyme disease is often called the great imitator, as it can imitate most any disease. I agree w' Dr Baker: In children I have seen sudden bursts of emotional, ; or, behavioral problems in a previously well behaved child with no other precipitating factors (no family problems, social issues, learning issues, illnesses or deaths in the family). Since i live in ct where lyme is common, i usually recommend that the child be tested for lyme.
