Yes: Yes but it depends on his age. If loss is immenent with or without repair then you may let nature take its course. Teeth have several functions beyond chewing: speach, communication: verbal and nonverbal, self esteem and aesthetics. Detrimental tongue and lip habits can develop with tooth loss.
