Dr. Meng Syn answered

1-2 days: Depending on the severity of your infection, it takes time for antibiotics to fight and win against your infection. Oral antibiotics must be absorbed into the blood stream to get to the infection. Some infections localize and wall themselves away from the blood supply and are slower to control with oral antibiotics. Such infection need to be drained.
