Depends: Ice baths are good for decreasing inflammation and swelling from acute (recent) injuries. If you had a hard workout and your shins are bruised or you injured a joint, then by all means do an ice bath. But if you just injured yourself and there's swelling or possibility of bleeding internally avoid a hot bath. It will increase circulation to the injury and increase the swelling/bruising.
