Yes, GERD but ...: First, could 'swelling' in throat be an allergic reaction to something new in your environment (new food, med). Gerd symptoms are: sensation of a lump in the throat, hoarseness or sore throat, burning sensation in your chest (heartburn) spreading to the throat, sour taste in your mouth, difficulty swallowing (dysphagia), chronic dry cough , regurgitation of food or sour liquid (acid reflux).
