How is myocarditis affect the heart?

Breathing andor pain: It can present as chest pain that is worse with a deep breath especially when lying down ("myo-pericarditis") or it can present with shortness of breath with exertion or when lying down. The ankles sometimes swell. It is sometimes part of a viral illness with upset stomach, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea and fever.

Myocarditis: Myocarditis results in inflammatory changes in the heart and interference with the mechanical functions and sometimes electrical functions of the heart.

Myocarditis: Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart. It may be infectious or inflammatory. It disorders heart muscle function and can cause both electrical and mechanical dysfunction. It can resolve or become chronic. In its chronic form it can cause serious disability or death.
