How is myocarditis affect the heart?

Breathing andor pain: It can present as chest pain that is worse with a deep breath especially when lying down ("myo-pericarditis") or it can present with shortness of breath with exertion or when lying down. The ankles sometimes swell. It is sometimes part of a viral illness with upset stomach, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea and fever.
