Snoring appliance: You should have a sleep study done to make sure you don't suffer from severe sleep apnea first. Dentist can fabricate an appliance that you wear that can open the airways up a bit by either moving your jaw forward or dropping your tongue down and forward or both. Talk to your dentist about these devices.

Simple stuff: You can first try simple things, like sleeping on your back (they sell sleep shirts with tennis balls on the back), avoid alcohol and sedatives, and lose weight. If you are a loud snorer, you should consider a sleep study to determine if you have sleep apnea, which is a much more serious issue. See you md if you have any questions.

Sleeping on the: Abdomen can sometimes ease snoring as can side sleeping. Weight loss can help if overweight. Snoring with sleep disruption, especially cessation of breathing merits a sleep medicine consult and possibly a sleep study.
