Can you get an mri if you have a pacemaker?

Generally not....: Only a very few very recently produced pacemakers are MRI compatible. Report the manufacturer and model to your radiology dept and they can determine if it is compatible. The answer will likely be no.

Usually not: Medtronic makes the only system in the United States which is certified for MRI compatibility. Mri is not advised for any other type of device (or even other medtronic devices aside from this one specific model) unless performed at very specialized centers with very specific expertise in performing mris in pacemaker/icd patients.
