A member asked:

Will a cecostomy tube be temporary or permanent?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends...: The reason why it was inserted may be treatable, then the reason for decompression via cecostomy should go away, and the tube can be removed. If the condition that caused it is permanent, cecostomy may be necessary long term to prevent the colon from 'exploding' inside.
